Dad Killed By Car Park Barrier:
A dad-of-three was killed when a security barrier smahed through his windscreen as he left a superstore car-park.
Kenneth Farr was hit in the head by the heavy steel arm which suddenly swung towards him.
His four-year-old daughter Jessica was in the back seat. She was unhurt. Shoppers who went to Kenneth's aid heard her cry:"Daddy's got blood all over him."

The 37-year-old electronic technician was driving from an Asda car park after a shopping trip when the accident happened. He died later in hospital.
Polic believe a gust of wind may have caught the barrier and swung it into Kenneth's car. Flowers were yesterday laid at the scene in Grangetown, Cardiff.
Jessica, Kenneth's wife Helen, 39, and the couple's other children Emma, eight, and two-year-old Hannah were said to be desperately upset over Tuesday's tragedy.

They were last night being comforted by Helen's parents and sister.
Friend Joyce Wiggins, who lived next door to Kenneth and Helen in nearby Penarth, said: "He was such a lovely man. He was wonderful with the children and they were such a happy family. Helen told me she can't believe Ken's gone. She's expecting him to walk in the house."
The couple were due to go to Amsterdam next month for Helen's 40th birthday.
Joyce, 75, added: "They were really looking forward to it. It's too sad for words."
An Asda spokesman said: "We are all very saddened by this tragic accident. Our thoughts are with his family and friends."
All the barriers outside the store were yesterday securely padlocked.
Kenneth worked for Panasonic at their Cardiff TV and microwave plant.
One of his bosses said: "Ken was a dedicated member of staff who got his 20-year service award last year. This is a terrible shock to all of us."

A spokesman for AESIF expressed his sadness of the accident and commented that in this case, it seems that it was an unmanned manual barrier. A properly installed automated barrier could possibly of reduced the risk of such an accident happening.            Source: Daily Mirror May 2002
