Eligibility for enrolment.

You must be either directly engaged in design, installation, maintenance and commissioning of automation systems and installations, or the fabrication of door, gate, & barrier's designed for automation.
Have traded, directly undertaking the design, installation, maintenance and commissioning of electrical automation systems and carried out electrical installation work, for at least twelve months under its existing trading title.
Have premises and equipment appropriate to the range and scale of electrical or construction work undertaken.

Have test instruments suitable for carrying out the range of tests required by BS 7671
maintain an effective system which enables them to confirm the continuing accuracy and consistency of all test instruments used for certification and reporting purpose,
Have at least £1 million pounds public liability insurance, and other technical reference documents relevant to the range of fabrication / automation carried out, and the electrical work undertaken.
Make available for inspection sufficient completed work across the range normally undertaken. The work must have been carried out during the previous twelve months under the business' current trading title.
Employ competent persons to undertake the fabrication / electrical work, who are adequately and appropriately supervised.

Maintain a record of complaints made about the technical standard of electrical and or construction work carried out, together with the details of the remedial action taken, if any, to resolve the complaint.
The following requirements are standard, to all UK business employed on contractual obligation with clients and employees for reward in this industry.
British Standards
All members must work to British Standards and other regulations and Codes of Practice relevant to the installation. For work falling within its scope, all members work to British Standard BS 7671: 1992, Requirements for Electrical Installations (The Institution of Electrical Engineers ( IEE ) Wiring Regulations).
