Your organisation must have the following suitable personnel in your structure to be entitled to apply to become members of AESIF:

Personnel
An organisation applying for enrolment for membership must nominate a Principal Manager and propose one or more Qualified Supervisors if you are a larger company. In the case of a sole trader, the individual will be the Principal Manager and should propose himself as the Qualified Supervisor.

Requirements for a Principal Manager
A Principal Manager is a person appointed by the business to have responsibility for the maintenance of the overall standard and quality of the electrical and fabrication, installation work undertaken by the business from a particular location. Principal Manager is not subject to assessment by The Automation Entrance Systems Installers Federation.

A Qualified Supervisor is responsible for:
Ensuring that the results of inspection and testing of electrical work are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificate or report ensuring that premises, equipment, documentation and records are available for inspection when required by The Automation Entrance Systems Installers Federation.
For example: if you don't check the setting on your automation, and some one adjusts it after you have left the site. A person is possibly injured, or property damaged. How will you protest your innocence without your records, would AESIF be in a strong position to help you. I don't think so, use your common sense and protect your business.

Qualified Supervisor must:
  · Be directly employed by the business on a full-time basis.
  · Have at least one consecutive year supervisory or managerial responsibility for the standard of electrical installation work normally undertaken. In the case of a sole trader, a One-year trading period will satisfy this requirement if the required managerial or supervisory experience has not been gained elsewhere
  · One year trading period if a member of an approved manufacture trade body and been on a technical training, installation course i.e.: FAAC, CAME, BFT, NICE and /or achieved other experience requirements laid down by The Automation Entrance Systems Installers Federation.
