Looking to test
When a power-operated door, gate or barrier is installed, the force with which this might strike an operator or bystander is a critical safety feature. European test methods EN12445 and EN12453 are recognised as being industry standards for evaluating the performance of power-driven gates and doors.

Sales fortunes down!...
It has come as no surprise to most, that the start of the year 2008 is considerably down on the same period for 2007 with regard to sales, “in fact sales are well down” and coupled with the now very strong euro exchange against the pound it is going to be hard for distributor / importers alike to maintain the supply of goods at current prices. The deepening fuel crises at home and abroad is also hitting suppliers and installers alike due to increased overheads.

Once upon a time a certain district of Nottingham
was infested by a huge dragon, whose poisonous breath "had many a city slain," and whose hide" no spear nor sword could pierce." Every day a virgin was sacrificed to it, until the time came for the King's daughter to be bound before being devoured, when St. George appeared, and thrust his lance into the monster's mouth, and killed it on the spot.

Construction Products Directive (CPD)
The European Union's Construction Products Directive (CPD) is a Single Market directive aimed at establishing free trade in construction products throughout Europe. It has a direct impact on all manufacturers of construction products trading in and with European and, for many products/markets, the use of the CE conformity marking, and therefore compliance with harmonized European product standards, is becoming compulsory. Even when not specifically required for regulatory purposes, there is evidence of purchasers and specifiers expecting to see the CE marking symbol on all products.
