The company commenced trading in 1998 & has developed from a family business lead by Mark Williams as MD and Sue Williams as Finance Director - focusing initially on local residential  electric gate market needs in the early years then progressing additionally into sub contractor work for major players in the pay on foot & CCTV installation sectors.

In 1995 Ian Child was brought on as Sales Manager - with a proven industry background in the commercial sector and with the objective to develop the company’s growth further in this competitive automatic gate sector.

Access Automation trade on there established high quality reputation – with most work via word of mouth & repeat customer accounts. The company wanted to be perceived by new clients as more than just a fabrication workshop and a team of fitters – but more a professional outfit. Combined with excellent references, high quality installations, broad skills mix, vast array of industry knowledge & ability to consult on new installations – ensuring all latest safety regulations and standards are met - made by  joining AESIF an ideal opportunity. Timing was also ideal – following moving to larger factory & office premises in the summer of 2007 a positive focus

could be made to promote the good work being undertaken by the team - Tammy & John as new industry standards are brought into play and must be understood & adhered to – thereby protecting clients & users of the equipment alike.

The company believes that a professional & independent body can protect organizations (schools, councils, blue chip sites, estates & offices) where purchasing departments have little or no prior knowledge and understanding of a technical product such as automation - as potential clients can be encouraged to obtain a second opinion for their own piece of mind before finalizing which installer to place their order with.

Recently the company have been involved in removing equipment installed poorly by others and replacing with new automation & in some instances replacing the gates also as not fit for purpose. These "cheap installations" may initially appear good value but 6mths down the line when gates are still not operating and the original installer refuses to return to site may create a different opinion as to which quote was best value for money – but sadly this is in hindsight for some clients – who will end up further out of pocket in order to get the final installation up to standard.

A further key element that assists Access Automation in its successful growth strategy is the willingness to take on all elements of a project. The team of engineers (7 strong) offers a good skills range – from civil works – excavating bases & trenching / laying ground ducts, fabrication of steel work – bespoke to suit the specific requirement, hanging gates, installation of automation, safety devices & final commissioning of the whole installation.

The company also supplies gates within the trade – to those who do not have fabrication facilities.

The company is looking to further it’s UK coverage & would like to work with a number of like-minded installers in other areas of the UK / Ireland. Please make contact if you are interested in discussing further

Recent projects the company is proud to announce include:
