 AESIF response.

And this is the way we support our industry, whilst the sentiment of this DHF article is understood, blame is not with the gate installers and defiantly not with electricians it goes much deeper?  There is a lot of information out there now for any individual looking to install the different types of automation, as for electricians they are more than up to date / speed on our legislation. One electrician I have spoken too likened this industry as to putting ones head in a noose, not worth the effort and defiantly not profitable.

“An installer cannot discount an automation kit by 55%”. The problem is the customer thinks the installer is out to rip them off. Then professional installers have to try and sell all the safety?  A question often asked SO WHY ARE FOUR STRIPS OF RUBBER AND A FOOT OF CABLE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE AUTOMATION KIT, IF THAT FULLY COMPLIES. Yes we get it all

The problem with the industry at the moment is that these automation kits find their way straight to the consumer at discounted prices, cheaper than net trade, completely bypassing installers, professional or not small Businesses are left scratching their head in disbelief of the situation.  The so called manufactures / distributor continue to fuel the problem whilst maintaining their profit,” they are not losing out and continue to move on boxes” happy days.
