A Conciliation Service exists for the benefit of
both the member and the customer. The Federation will remain impartial at
all times, and where appropriate, uses the services of an independent
expert. Its only concern is to establish the facts and facilitate in
bringing about a settlement.
The Federation's conciliation service is entirely
free. It offers a professional approach by the Federation, its role in
bringing the two parties together and in suggesting possible solutions to
help achieve an agreed settlement. Should an
agreed solution not be possible the Federation can arrange for an
independent outside arbitrator to provide a lasting and binding solution.
To protect the arbitrator's impartiality, the member and the complainant
share all costs.

All members undertake to abide by the Federation's
Objectives and Codes of Practice, and the Federation's Committee of
Management has no hesitation in expelling a member who is shown to have
failed to meet the standard required by the Federation.
